Nokia's handset arm will be re-branded Microsoft Mobile Oy once Microsoft's take-over deal goes through, a letter sent out to Nokia's suppliers reveals.
The memo, which was leaked to the Nokia Poweruser blog, tells suppliers to Nokia's Devices and Services arm that their terms and conditions will not change once Microsoft assumes control of the business in a 5.4 billion euro sale.
Nokia refused to comment on the possible name change.
A blog on the Microsoft website says the acquisition deal is expected to be closed on 25 April 2014.
In the deal, Microsoft will no longer take over Nokia's South Korean manufacturing plant, which employs around 200 people and produces smartphone parts. It is still unknown whether Nokia's huge 8,000-employee Chennai factory in India will become part of Microsoft, as a long-running dispute between Nokia and the Indian tax authorities remains unresolved.
