Topping tech headlines on Monday, Google confirmed its purchase of drone maker Titan Aerospace for an undisclosed sum.

The move comes less than two months after reports surfaced that Facebook was in talks to purchase Titan Aerospace, which makes solar-powered, near-orbital drones that can fly for about five years nonstop. Titan's 20 employees will remain at the company's New Mexico headquarters, and will reportedly work closely with Google's Project Loon.

Meanwhile, Mozilla named its chief marketing officer Chris Beard as interim CEO, about a week after Brendan Eich resigned over a donation he made to an anti-gay marriage ballot initiative. Beard, who has been with Mozilla since it shipped Firefox 1.0, is also joining Mozilla's board of directors. He is also being considered as a candidate for the long-term CEO position.

In other news, Comcast's recent inter-connection deal with Netflix has provided the streaming video service with a speed bump on Comcast's network. According to recent stats, the average Comcast speed for Netflix was up 65 percent from 1.51 Mbps in January to 2.5 Mbps in March. Still, the cable giant is behind some of its U.S. ISP rivals, including Cablevision, Cox, Suddenlink, and Charter.
